Meet Sirena
Hi there! Glad you stopped by my little corner of the internet. I hope you’ve enjoyed your time here with me.
To tell you a little about myself, my name is Sirena. I live in Manchester, NH and I love everything about HEALTH, NUTRITION and FOOD (organic, of course).
What do I do, you ask?
My elevator pitch to that question is that I am a personal trainer and holistic lifestyle coach who educates and mentors people to live healthier, energetic and more vibrant lives through a holistic and integrative approach to health (wow, that was a mouthful). Stress, sleep, digestion, hormonal imbalances, I take all that into consideration.
I love people. I love being around people, and I love educating and helping people to make safer and more informed decisions about their health. However, after working in the fitness and health industry for 5 years, it’s been very apparent that there is a TON of misinformation out there.
And that can be so confusing for people! I’ve seen my own family, friends, and my clients struggle with trying to decipher all the details that are thrown at us from every single direction.
So, I decided to do something about it.
Hence, came the Naked Dish.
My purpose with this blog is to provide you with my insight to health, nutrition and good REAL food.
I’ll be sharing quick and healthy recipes, interviews with local and national health experts, as well as honest and easy advice to follow to live a healthier, energetic and more vibrant life.
You see, being healthy isn’t that complicated. But, we’ve made it so confusing on ourselves that we now have a 1/3 of Barnes and Nobles dedicated to health, exercise, nutrition, and well-being books.
We’ve nitpick every single detail of every aspect of health, that we now have millions of books dedicated to the subject, but our country has never been more sick, diseased and overweight.
I think it is just human nature for us to want to know every single detail. We HAVE to know the who, what, where, when and why of how everything under the sun works. And obviously, that’s helped us make huge technological advances in our society. But what happens when we start to dig too deep is that we tend to forget the BASICS.
And you know what, how we view our health and nutrition is no exception.
We forget the primal, and traditional ways our bodies were meant to eat and move, because we are so consumed with how grams of protein to get, which amino acids do what, which exercises slim my thighs, and yadda yadda yadda. We’ve become so obsessed with the “numbers” and the details, that we’re trying to see the forest through the tress.
And that my friend, is why were are so friggin’ confused about how to eat and exercise. Make it easier on yourself, and stick to the basics. It’s not that complicated if you keep it SIMPLE, keep it REAL, and stick to TRADITIONS.
Here there will be no crazy numbers to follow, confusing equations to figure out, or weird unpronounceable food items to scavenge for on the internet.
Just health and nutrition, stripped to the BARE ESSENTIALS.
Your friend,
Sirena
